Tonglen Lake

This was a driving day.  We needed to get from the Matanuska Glacier to an area near Denali National Park.  Our stay for the next two nights is at Tonglen Lake. All of the cabins are relatively new.

Ours is called “Fireweed” which is Alaska’s state flower.  You can find them most anywhere this time of year.

Tomorrow we are touring Denali NP.  The only way you can tour deep inside the park is to go with one of the park tour buses.  It’s a long day (8 hours) but everyone says it is worth it.

Today turned out to be a two puppy day for Jan.  Our host here at Tonglen Lake is breeding and there is a 9 week old pup that visited the lodge.

That compliments the 3 week old pup we saw at the Iditarod Museum.
